REACH training for PU products
The European Union has enacted new legislation governing the use of products containing more than 0.1% monomeric diisocyanates. This also applies to polyurethane products such as adhesives, sealants, casting resins, coatings or injection materials used in industrial production or construction. From August 24, 2023, all commercial and industrial users must complete training before they can use such products.

The REACH Regulation is the European Chemicals Regulation for the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals.

Sika offers various solutions to comply with the new regulations:
- The Sikaflex 500 series comprises mostly primerless and high performance elastic adhesives and sealants for multiple applications. They are isocyanate-free and do not require this REACH training.
- Sikaflex Purform adhesives and sealants are a new generation of polyurethanes that require no training. The launch of these products will start before the end of 2023.
- In addition, Sika offers its customers free access to the online-based occupational safety training at Isopa. Detailed information can be found on the official Sika website. This training is a good supplement to the company's own safety instruction and gives you the flexibility to use all adhesive and sealant types as well as coating materials optimally.
